Fans of the Friday movie franchise should be excited.
Last night, rapper and filmmaker Ice Cube confirmed that a new Friday movie is coming.
A Twitter user asked him if the rumors were true, and Cube responded, “Yes.”
The rapper had been retweeting questions from fans and answering them on the social media platform.
The Friday franchise debuted in 1995 with F. Gary Gray directing the stoner comedy that Ice Cube and DJ Pooh wrote. Cube, Chris Tucker, John Witherspoon, Regina King, and Anna Maria Horsford starred in the original film.
In 2000, Next Friday (starring Cube and Mike Epps) hit theaters and Friday After Next was released in 2002.
Last Friday is allegedly supposed to be the last installment of the franchise.
In 2017, during an interview with “Drink Champs,” DJ Pooh mentioned working on the Last Friday project.
