Remy Ma Defends Nicki Minaj Regarding Her Frustration With The Media
Remy Ma recently defended Nicki Minaj in regards to the “Megatron” rapper being frustrated with urban media, which is surprising because Remy and Minaj are nemeses.
Last week, Minaj made headlines after addressing Joe Budden regarding why he engaged in carrying a rumor that the rapper was hooked on cocaine and was intimidated by Cardi B’s swift rise to stardom.
Remy referenced Minaj and Joe Budden’s exchange before revealing that she understands how Minaj, who has been an enemy of hers, feels in regards to the media representatives spouting negative rumors about artists.
“I felt some of the things she [Minaj] was saying because I know how that feels. To feel like people who were supposed to be your friends or people that you thought was cool with you, and then they say some left-field sh*t,” Remy said during a recent interview.
“You be like ‘Damn, I thought we were alright. I know that feeling, it’s upsetting. It makes you angry. It makes you want to come for them.”
Remy Ma explained that sometimes people who are in media talk about artists and celebrities without thinking about the possible backlash or consequences that come following whatever was said.
“What I got from it is that people who are in these media positions, they say things. And they say things effortlessly. They don’t think about the repercussions. What I pull from that is like, the same way she felt, a lot of artists feel that,” Remy continued.
“They get up there; they say what they want, they don’t fact check. They say certain sh*t, and it’s harmful. Sometimes it harms your brand as a whole. Sometimes it harms your project. Sometimes it just personally harms you.”
In 2017, Minaj and Remy sent their fans into a frenzy when they took shots at each other on various diss records.
