NYPD law enforcement sources reportedly responded to viral video of an officer filming fans leaving the venue. They told the tabloid that it was for a "social media post to show how police work with venue security to keep concerts safe for fans." Journalist Jon Caramanica grabbed a video of an NYPD officer filming and posted it on Twitter.
Many fans speculated as to why the NYPD officer was filming such facial recognition but many chimed in reminding people that they are being filmed all the time by CCTV cameras. However, according to the NYPD, reportedly none of these were the case.
