A dating trend called Bottle Night is sweeping the nation.  And we don’t really hate it at all.

Meet Collin Rutherford, the brain behind a new dating trend called “Bottle Night.” Yes, you heard it right, it’s a homegrown concept born out of boredom.

What’s Bottle Night All About?

Collin shared his idea on Twitter, revealing that he and his girlfriend concocted it during a snowstorm in 2023 in Buffalo. Simple as it sounds, it’s all about locking away phones, turning off the TV, grabbing a bottle of wine each, and just talking.

“We live together, but it’s easy to miss out on ‘quality time,'” Collin tweeted. So, they decided to ditch the distractions and dive into conversation.

Sure, they took a selfie on “Bottle Night,” but hey, who wouldn’t want to capture the moment? Also, pics or it didn’t happen.

The tweet gained traction, with some folks teasing Collin for essentially reinventing the concept of “hanging out.”

“This dude thinks he and his girlfriend ‘invented’ getting drunk and hanging out,” one person tweeted. “Wow, a pioneer,” another person tweeted.

Was he serious?

Well, it’s likely he was being a bit tongue-in-cheek.

In the comments section, Collin plugged his business, flaunted some “Bottle Night” merch he designed, and joked around with fellow Twitter users. So, even if he started with a straight face, the joke isn’t on him. He’s gone viral.

Oh, and one crucial detail: there’s no pressure to polish off the entire bottle. It’s all about the company and conversation, not the booze.

I personally believe being a good person is sexy and attractive.
