R. Kelly Accused of Previously Intimidating Witnesses
It looks like we know the reason R Kelly was denied bail. In court documents, the prosecution in R Kelly’s case says they have proof of his history of intimidating witnesses and victims. The court was shown typewritten letters to an unnamed accuser’s lawyer where Kelly threatened to release “compromising and potentially embarrassing photographs” if she pursued a criminal case against him. That and they apparently have testimony from other women who claim Kelly issued “veiled threats designed to prevent [them] from testifying against him.” They’re also accusing R Kelly of having hundreds of thousands of dollars stashed away in other accounts in friends names…saying he could use this money to pay off witnesses for their silence. R Kelly has been in jail since July and is facing up to 195 years in jail if found guilty of all of the sex crimes he’s accused of.
