Small cities is where it’s at for these types of people. You can hit your coffee shop without sitting in traffic for 3 hours. That’s a small piece of happiness right there.
MoneyGeek analyzed economic growth and prosperity indicators for 211 smaller cities with populations of 63,000 to 100,000 to figure out which small cities in America are most up and coming. They compared these metros across 11 key metrics on growth indicators and community well-being and these are the results. Florida crushed, eating up 7 of the Top 10 Most Up-and-Coming Small Cities in America. North Port, Florida was the big winner by the way – THE most up-and-coming small city in America. Congrats. Texas had two small cities in the Top 10, Utah had the other.
Now let’s focus a little closer to home. What are the most up and coming small cities in New England? 7 northeast smaller cities made the Top 50 most up and coming small cities in the US. Massachusetts had 3 in the New England Top 50. Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Maine, and Connecticut each had one in the national top 50 as well. Vermont is the only New England state not making a showing.
