Nerd culture has become a movement that has become sort of… “cool?” Video games, professional wrestling, cartoons, collectibles… whatever you’re into, I feel like we’ve reached a point where “you do you.” If something makes you happy, who cares what it is (unless it’s morally junk) just enjoy it! I still watch pro wrestling, play Mario games, and have a tattoo of a Juicy Juice juice box on my arm. I fully accept my nerdiness and I wear it as a Juicy Juice badge of honor etched into my skin.
So who better to rank the nerd-level of all of the cities in the country? Well a lawn care website of course! Lawn Love is out with it’s 2023 rankings of the 200 nerdiest cities in America. Lawn Love compared the 200 biggest U.S. cities based on four categories. They compared access to comic book stores, geek social groups, and Comic-Cons, among 13 total metrics to give each city an overall score. The higher the overall score, the higher up the geek countdown the city ranks.
New York City was deemed the nerdiest city in the country, pulling in a super geeky 84.44 overall score dwarfing Los Angeles, which came in second with an overall score of 59.24. San Antonio, Chicago, and Las Vegas round out the top 5.
So below you’ll find all of the New England cities that made the nerd countdown – there’s only 5 in the Top 200! Not too nerdy!! We need weekly Comicons in the Seaport so we can up that nerd rating!
