Red Sox Nation has been sending thoughts, prayers and well-wishes to Big Papi, one of our most beloved Red Sox players, since learning the horrible news that he was shot in the Dominican Republic. Last night the Red Sox had a “moment of reflection” for David Ortiz at Fenway.
Two of Big Papi’s former teammates Pedro Martinez and Jason Varitek got emotional when discussing David Ortiz.
According to mlb.com, “A team spokesman said Monday evening that an air ambulance carrying Ortiz had departed the Dominican Republic bound for Boston. In stable condition, Ortiz will continue his recovery at Massachusetts General Hospital. NESN’s broadcast of Monday night’s Red Sox game showed footage of the ambulance carrying Ortiz arriving at the hospital sometime before 10:30 p.m. ET, just moments prior to the completion of Boston’s 4-3 loss to the Rangers.”
We love you Big Papi and wish you a speedy recovery!
