Michael Jordan Turned Down $100 Million for a Two Hour Appearance
This means, Michael was either rich or stupid. Michael “only” earned about $90 million during his baskeball career, although he’s worth about $2 billion now. His agent, told a story however about a time where he actually turned DOWN some VERY EASY money. An unnamed company asked for two hours of Jordan’s time, plus the right to use his name and likeness. In exchange, Jordan would get $100 million. He turned them down.
His agent David Falk said “I brought him a deal three years ago for $100 million. All he had to do was, other than giving his name and likeness, make one two-hour appearance to announce the deal and he turned it down. God bless him. He’s been so successful, it gives him an opportunity to do whatever the hell he wants or not to do things he doesn’t want. I really admire that. He’s very, very selective in the things he wants to be involved in.”
