After 24 seasons, The Bachelor casts its first black male lead!

In an announcement this morning, ABC revealed on Good Morning America that 28-year-old Matt James, an African-American real estate broker, entrepreneur and community organization founder from New York City, will star in season 25 of The Bachelor premiering in 2021. According to ABC Entertainment President Karey Burke in a statement, “Matt has been on our radar since February, when producers first approached him to join Bachelor Nation, as part of Clare’s season.
