Museum Of Science Expansion Bringing Exciting New 10,000 sq ft State-Of-The-Art Space
A Museum Of Science Expansion is bringing some exciting additions to the facility. The expansion project will feature the Public Science Common, a 10,000 sq ft state-of-the-art space. It will replace the existing Cahners Theater with the multimedia venue which will be able to host up to 700 people. It will also have 270-degree views of the Charles River through three walls of glass.
What’s Coming With The Museum Of Science Expansion?
Such an exciting time for Boston! The Museum Of Science Expansion is coming and the new space will become the central hub of the Museum’s three new Centers for Public Science Learning. The three will be: The Center for Life Sciences, the Center for the Environment, and the Center for Space Sciences.
According to the Museum, “The Public Science Common will be common ground for everyone interested in science and technology. It will be a place for people to bring their ideas and hopes, questions, and doubts. It will be a place where industry, academia, government, and the public can think out loud and solve problems together.”
This great new space will be an incredible place to help kids dream big. I love thinking about young people attending and participating in events and fairs that will help them connect with other young people with their same interests. And I can even imagine kids discovering a love for science that they didn’t even know they had. I love thinking about the possibilities for them.
I also love thinking about the events and discussions that will take place in that space. The Museum already hosts many events, and I see only see those events and discussion becoming even more important and engaging in this new space.
When will the Museum Of Science Expansion Open?
All great things take time, so this will take a minute as construction is expected to start this year, and will be complete in 2026.
