Remembering Martin Richard On One Boston Day (VIDEOS)
Today we remember all of those who were lost and injured six years ago during the Boston Marathon bombings. The image of eight year old Martin Richard holding a sign that said, “No more hurting people. Peace.” impacted so many. The Martin Richard Foundation was created after his death and is doing wonderful things in his honor.
The Martin Richard Foundation “provides opportunities for young people to learn, grow and lead through volunteerism and community engagement.” They “look to advance sportsmanship, inclusion, kindness and peace.”
Team MR8 has raised over four and a half million dollars by participating in various events and is running in today’s Boston Marathon.
The Martin Richard Foundation is trying to get a Martin Richard Memorial Peace Stamp created. You can find out more details and sign the petition in the Facebook link below.
One Boston Day was created because “after the Marathon bombing on April 15th, 2013, Bostonians responded to violence and hate with selflessness and love. It was in that spirit that One Boston Day was born, encouraging people everywhere to commit random acts of kindness, big and small. Over the years, this continued show of support has inspired the survivors and family members of the victims to connect, heal, and pay the kindness forward in ways both inspiring and profound.”
Keep Martin Richard and all of those who were lost and injured in your thoughts today and commit some random acts of kindness in their honor.
