We introduced you to A.J. Dybantsa last year. He is a 16 year old NBA prospect from Brockton who has just been ranked #1 in his class by ESPN which is making him the player to watch nationwide. Since his dad called into The Getup Crew last year, A.J.’s life has changed significantly.  Let’s get you familiar with A.J. and what he’s  been up to these past few years.

Since initially attending St. Sebastian’s in Needham, A.J. has since transferred to Prolific Prep in Napa, California. Since then, A.J. has received several college offers. His first one came from Boston College.  Additional schools that have offered him a scholarship include Providence, Georgetown, UConn, Kentucky, Duke, North Carolina, Alabama and Washington. He has also won a gold medal while representing the United States at the FIBA Under-16 Americas Championship in Mérida, Mexico. 

Now, he has officially catapulted himself into the basketball mainstream, making an appearance on SportsCenter’s Top 10. It was last night’s Top 10 and it was because of this play:

A 29 year radio veteran, Melissa has made notable media appearances including serving as a judge and correspondent on the Emmy Award-winning TV show Community Auditions, Phantom Gourmet, Chronicle and many more. Additionally, Melissa won a Gracie Award in 2019 for her work as Co-Host of The GetUp Crew with Ramiro, Pebbles, Melissa & Leroy. She volunteered coaching cheerleading for 20 years. Melissa is a social influencer who creates videos promoting area businesses, movies, concerts and other lifestyle events.

    A.J. is 6 feet, 8 inches tall, 200 pounds and 17 years old.  He currently plays for  Utah Prep in Hurricane. He says he will narrow down his school offers in the next month or so.

    A.J. has received 18 D1 college offers. He has no idea where he wants to go just yet. Since this initial post, he has received even more D1 college offers.

    A.J. still takes time to visit places like the Brockton Boys & Girls club when he returns home. He loves to give back to his community. That will never stop.

    A.J. visited BYU and he says he met with the whole basketball staff. He says he met with former player and current BYU coach Kevin Young and that it went well. A.J. says everyone is in the conversation right now but will narrow down his decision at the end of July.
