Well let’s start saving. Celtics ticket prices? They are going up. Yes, we are all feeling the higher prices, for gas, food, energy, and all basic needs. NOW, what do we do when our sports entertainment joins that party? Do we really NEED it?
For most of our lives, there has been nothing better than being a Boston sports fan. I say most, because I’m mad at last seasons Patriots.
According to a new study from Betway, the cost of being sports fan is going up. But which fanbase will see the biggest spike in prices when it comes to supporting their team? To discover this, Betway researched which NBA teams have increased their prices the most during recent years, and created the ‘Future Fandom Cost’ Index, which forecasts how much each fanbase will be paying come 2025.
Methodology
This campaign looks at which NBA teams have increased their prices the most since 2018/2019. From this, a forecast was produced to see the estimated prices for each NBA team in 2025.
Overall, six different factors were used within the data sets
The average price of a ticket
Average price of parking
Price for a 12 oz beer the average price
Cost for a 16 oz soft drink, price for a hot dog, and the average price of an adult jersey.
The percentage change in price for each factor between 2018/2019 and 2020/2021 was recorded and a forecast function was applied to determine the potential cost for 2025.
The season total cost was calculated from the price of 82 tickets, 82 hot dogs, 82 soft drinks, 82 beers, 1 adult jersey, and 82 parking spaces. The individual total cost was calculated from the price of 1 ticket, 1 hot dog, 1 soft drink, 1 beer, 1 adult jersey, and parking.
Ok, now that we’re armed with the data, let’s jump in our De Lorean and set it to the year 2025! What WILL be the future cost of Celtics Ticket Prices?
