More MA Communities Threaten Fines for Not Wearing Masks in Public
If you live in these communities, you better get your mask real quick. Starting Wednesday, Cambridge and Somerville will now require residents to wear masks in all public spaces, businesses and residential common areas. In Cambridge, if you’re caught in public without one, you risk a $300 fine. Somerville police will issue verbal warnings so no actual monetary fines just yet.
Mayor Walsh said yesterday in his press conference that Boston is not prepared or looking to issue fines for not wearing masks, though he’s hoping the public does the right thing.
No word on if other communities will follow suit.
