CVS Pharmacy and Walgreens announced Tuesday they’re suspending the use of Johnson & Johnson’s coronavirus vaccine after Massachusetts, several others states and the federal government urged providers to press pause on the administration of the shot.
The two companies issued the suspension per the recommendation from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevent and the Food and Drug Administration to pause the use of the single-dose vaccine out of an abundance of caution.
