The story is a heartbreaking one. And it all started from a Reddit thread. The 22 year old woman (we’ll call her Rachel) posted a question on Reddit asking for relationship help. Apparently, mutual friends had informed the woman about her boyfriend’s (we’ll call him Rich) infidelity that took place when he and the friend (we’ll call her Jen) were on a farewell vacation. Here is an excerpt from the Reddit post:
“I wouldn’t have found out if one of our mutual friends didn’t slip. My boyfriend and the girl did it when they were on vacation with other friends. She had a terminal illness and is dead now. I’m confident that he was never attracted to her. They never had a relationship beyond that. She did have a secret crush on him though. She was the little sister of their friend group. This incident happened late Nov or December 2021. She died in March 2022.”
The woman went on to say, her jealousy in the situation is eating her up. She hates that she feels jealous and says she knows it “wasn’t just f**king” adding that it was emotional because she was dying. Since the woman’s passing, Rich has been depressed and his mental health is not well. Rachel feels awful about feeling jealous about it. There is an update to the story as Rachel was asking people what she should do. Well, she did confront Rich. Rich did admit he hid it from Rachel because he didn’t want to lose her and that he had no feelings toward Jen. He regretted it and his depression and guilt was over hiding it from Rachel. He now wants to win Rachel’s trust back. He apologized and understands why Rachel feels the way she does. The story is to be continued…
