Brad Marchand of the Boston Bruins held a meet and greet at Encore Boston Harbor Thursday night June 8th as part of his endorsement and partnership with Twisted Tea. He showed up with former Bruins goaltender Andrew Raycroft who hosted a question and answer session for about 50 invited guests to the WynnBet sports bar. Twisted Tea was on site handing out swag and each guest was given drink tickets to enjoy some of the delicious drink while they waited for Brad to show up.
He arrived around 5pm to the event and was seated on stage with Andrew. He answered questions from dealing with the Bruins’ loss in the playoffs, to Patrice Bergeron’s potential retirement, which he responded more than once by saying that if Patrice retires, he’ll retire too. His comment may have been made in jest, no one really knows. However, he certainly seemed passionate about his answer.
One of the more interesting parts of the conversation was when Brad said his kids told him the day after their loss to the Panthers in the playoffs “Daddy I’m sorry you lost.” He also explained that training now at 35 is a lot different than training when he was in his 20s. In regards to the season being cut short, Brad says while he was upset and obviously not what the team wanted, you have to look at what they accomplished and you have to try and look at the cup as being half full. They have an amazing core group of guys on the team and they’re hoping to be right back in the hunt next season.
