Kanye West won’t apologize for selling his latest Yeezy Gap collection out of trash bags. Earlier this week, a social media user had posted pictures of the clothes stuffed into large bags and managers of The Gap had said they were instructed by Kanye to not put the clothing on hangers. According to a witness “The sales associate said Ye got mad when he saw they had his clothes on hangers” because “this is how he wanted it.” “They won’t help you find your size,” they added, “you just have to just dig through everything.” People are criticizing Kanye “It’s everything that is wrong with billionaires,” the dissenter argued. “They no longer see the plight of people, they don’t see humans that are suffering, they see opportunities to be ‘edgy’ and profit from it…it’s disgusting.” Kanye is responding to the criticism and wants to clarify that the clothing is actually stuffed into large construction bags and then calling himself an innovator. He added “I’m not here to sit up and apologize for my ideas. That’s exactly what the media tries to do: make us apologize for any idea that doesn’t fall under exactly the way they want us to think. “This is not a joke, this is not a game, this is not just a celebrity collaboration … this is my life.”
Kanye did an interview yesterday with Fox News reporter Eric Shawn and went on to say “I’m ready for y’all apology. We are creating — I’ve fought a lot. I’ve lost my best friend, I lost my family. And I’m here still creating.”
People are also criticizing the line because of the prices. The cheapest thing you can purchase in this particular line is a key chain for $40. It’s no secret, Kanye has actually admitted that the inspiration for his clothing is the homeless. Just this past Friday, Kanye posted on IG “Look to the children… Look to the homeless… As the biggest inspiration for all design.” To view Kanye’s latest Gap collaboration CLICK HERE
Kanye West's most outrageous fashion choices
Kanye West is now selling his Yeezy Gap line out of trash bags. He’s gotten much criticism for the move. It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise seeing as Kanye’s fashion choices have always been, let’s just say a little suspect. Kanye’s eye for fashion started for him at a young age. As soon as his College Dropout album dropped, we knew he was a fan of fashion. Back then, it was rugby Polo shirts, jeans, blazers and Louis Vuitton backpacks. It seemed as the years went on and the albums got released, his style evolved. From 70s style suits to tailored suits to bomber jackets and distressed denim, Kanye has definitely changed up his looks over the years. His love for fashion has allowed him to come up with some interesting collaborations with brands like Adidas, Nike, Louis Vuitton, and now Gap. Kanye has also evolved into billionaire status because of his fashion collaborations. This has made many critics believe he is no longer in touch with the “plight of the people.” Regardless of anyone’s feelings toward Kanye himself for his music or his fashion, you gotta respect the man for having an eye and for giving us that shock value. With this latest news of his Gap line being sold out of trash bags, we wanted to go back and take a look at some of Kanye’s most interesting looks. Have some fun with this photo gallery of Kanye West’s most outrageous looks. Are there any of these pieces of clothing you’d rock? Do you personally feel Kanye has become out of touch with his average consumer? Do you feel Kanye being a billionaire has put him out of touch with the “plight of the people?” One thing is for sure, with these looks, Kanye West has a lot of people talking.
