Angela Simmons is the latest celebrity to share unfiltered photos of herself on social media. It always causes quite the conversation when celebrities appear vulnerable, posting their natural selves with no filtering and no photo shopping. The reaction to Angela’s photos was mixed as you can expect. She posted the picture with the caption ‘REAL bodies matter and thick thighs save lives lol.’ It was for the Matte Collection runway show at Miami Swim Week. She received a lot of praise from celebrities like Taraji P Henson and Gabrielle Union saying she looked “Beautiful.” She did receive criticism as you can expect as well. But fans were quick to jump on trolls and Angela was very grateful. She responded to all of the positivity saying ‘I wanted to tell you guys sincerely thank you for all the love and support,’ she said. ‘I walked the runway for Swim Week, and I just felt like it was important to put up that raw, unedited version of myself, which I’m big on anyway.’

Over the years, many celebrities have gone against the norm and posted unfiltered and un photoshopped pictures of themselves online to mixed reactions. Here is a list of some of our favorites.

  • Ashley Graham showing off her stretch marks

“Justin says my stretch marks look like the tree of life”

  • Keke Palmer and her battle with PCOS

“Hey you guys, for some of you this may be TMI, but for me my platform has always been used for things much greater than me. Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome has been attacking me from the inside out my entire life and I had no idea. My acne has been so bad that people in my field offered to pay for me to get it fixed. I tried EVERYTHING. I did Accutane TWICE. People say drink water, have a better diet, but I did all that, I ate all the “right” things, my blood tests were fine. But it took ME taking a personal look into my family that has a history of diabetes and obesity, to understand what was ACTUALLY happening with me. And unfortunately doctors are people and if you don’t “look the part” they may not think that’s your problem. They may not even suggest it if you “look healthy” whatever that means! I came to a doctor in tears once and all they offered was a measles vaccine… Exactly.

I’m posting this to say that it’s okay and we can help ourselves. My skin has made me sad many nights but I do not give up on myself. I know this is not me and my body has been looking for help. I do not have a medical degree but I did the research and took what I learned to a doctor and that led them to a proper diagnosis. I’m not saying trust web md for everything haha but what I am saying is no one can help us like we can help ourselves.”

  • Kylie Jenner sharing what fans called her "postpartum stomach"

  • Helen Mirren and her bed head photo

“in return for this pic of me literally first thing in the morning, please donate to the intensive care support at

  • Paris Jackson showing off her armpit hair

    “dear apple

    thanks man”

  • Selena Gomez sharing her kidney transplant scar

“When I got my kidney transplant, I remember it being very difficult at first showing my scar. I didn’t want it to be in photos, so I wore things that would cover it up. Now, more than ever, I feel confident in who I am and what I went through…and I’m proud of that. T – Congratulations on what you’re doing for women, launching @lamariette whose message is just that…all bodies are beautiful.”

  • Hilary Duff embracing her unfiltered skin for the haters

“I am posting this on behalf of young girls, women, and mothers of all ages. I’m enjoying a vacation with my son after a long season of shooting and being away from him for weeks at a time over those months. Since websites and magazines love to share ‘celeb flaws’ – well I have them! My body has given me the greatest gift of my life: Luca, 5 years ago. I’m turning 30 in September and my body is healthy and gets me where I need to go. Ladies, lets be proud of what we’ve got and stop wasting precious time in the day wishing we were different, better, and unflawed. You guys (you know who you are!) already know how to ruin a good time, and now you are body shamers as well.
    #kissmyass 😛✌🏻”

  • Bebe Rexha showing off her "real body"

“I WANNA SEE YOUR REAL BODIES. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. THICK. SKINNY. CELLULITE. STRETCH MARKS. FOLDS. SEND ME VIDEOS. NO PHOTOSHOP BULLSHIT. POST ON TIK TOK/ INSTAGRAM AND TAG ME AND ILL REPOST #EVERYBODYISBEAUTIFUL #sacrifice”

“No, this is not a pregnancy Before picture. This is the After. After days of labor. After experiencing what felt like my insides being ripped apart, no lie. After experiencing the unimaginable beauty of childbirth, this is what is left behind. This Gorgeous Body!

So in celebration of myself and my body for “Doing the Damn Thing”, I wanted to share this photo.
No make up, no editing, no filters (and you know I love a filter!)…Just Me…a woman in awe of her Body and her Baby! ♥️”

  • Jessica Simpson and her swollen ankles

  • Lizzo just being Lizzo and all her fabulousness

    “Verified
    Oops… I forgot to Facetune these 🤭🤪”
  • Zendaya

“Had a new shoot come out today and was shocked when I found my 19 year old hips and torso quite manipulated. These are the things that make women self conscious, that create the unrealistic ideals of beauty that we have. Anyone who knows who I am knows I stand for honest and pure self love. So I took it upon myself to release the real pic (right side) and I love it😍😘 Thank you @modelistemagazine for pulling down the images and fixing this retouch issue.”
