Halloween Ends has left fans very disappointed despite it having a great first week at the box office. It made $41 million in its first weekend which was well below expectations. The reason for this could be that the movie was also available for streaming on Peacock. This has sparked a debate among film studios and filmmakers about releasing movies to streaming services. Filmmaker Christoper Landon expressed his frustration posting “Stop doing this. Please. It doesn’t work. Studios: stop gambling with filmmakers and their movies to try and prop up your fledgling streaming services,” Landon wrote on Twitter. “I begged the studio not to do this…We got hosed.”
As for the actual movie, if you happened to go on social media at all this weekend, you saw a LOT of disappointed fans who feel the movie was lackluster to say the least. It received a 40% on the tomato meter and 57% audience meter. You can see the trailer and get a complete review HERE.
The question many want to know however: is this really the end of Michael Myers? It seems that way however we really never know for sure. Also, is the introduction of the new character Corey going to be the beginning of another franchise we haven’t realized? Only time will tell. For now, let’s take a look at some of the most dramatic reactions to the movie to date.
