J. Cole on stage performing at a concert. J. Cole Kendrick Lamar Beef.

The J. Cole Kendrick Lamar beef is officially over. Things heated up this weekend with J. Cole’s release of his album, specifically the track “7 Minute Drill.” The song contains lyrics that seem to directly respond to Kendrick Lamar’s verse in the Future and Metro Boomin’ track “Like That.” In “7 Minute Drill,” J. Cole raps

7 Minute Drill

“The rap beef ain’t realer than the s**t I seen in Cumberland
He averagin’ one hard verse like every thirty months or somethin’
If he wasn’t dissin’ then we wouldn’t be discussin’, huh?
Lord, don’t make me have to smoke this n***a ’cause I f**k with him
But push come to shove, on this mic, I will humble him
I’m Mino with this thing, this that New Jack City meme”

Last night, during his set at the Dreamville Festival in North Carolina, J. Cole says the diss track hasn’t felt good or right with his spirit. He went on to ask the crowd:  “I want to say right now tonight, how many people think Kendrick Lamar is one of the greatest motherf**er’s to ever touch a f***in’ microphone? Dreamville, y’all love Kendrick Lamar, correct? As do I.”

Fan reaction to J. Cole Kendrick Lamar Beef

Fans have immediately jumped to social media to declare Kendrick the official “winner” of the beef between the two. They’ve been throwin’ shots at J.Cole saying he should never have apologized. Here are some of the more hilarious fan reactions.

  • "Shut the f**k up, this is rap!"

@Yetheguess on X says “To all the people saying “j. Cole is being mature” shut the f**k up this is rap.” He posted a video of Tupac and Biggie thus insinuating that when you’re fighting, you fight til the end. Needless to say he does not agree with what J. Cole did.

  • "Hip hop has gotten soft"

@ShaunWordplay tweeted “Damn bro im really looking at Cole sideways now. Yes the song was trash but dont admit it. Damn hip hop has gotten soft.” He really feels J. Cole should not have apologized. Do you believe hip hop has gotten soft?

  • J Cole got post nut clarity

@Asensii20 tweeted “J Cole got post nut clarity.” He’s referring to the diss track dropping on Friday as the sexual climax and the two days following being his clarity. Do you all agree?
  • Cole ruined the greatest build up to a beef in the last 20 years

@DatrapBoomane says J. Cole just let him down. He ruined the best build up to a rap beef possibly ever. Do you agree? Should J. Cole have apologized?
  • Millenials are the wackest generation alive

@amarvalousone is NOT happy. “Smh! Millinneals still on track for being the wackest generation alive and in contention for all time. The most kumbaya generation in raps history. 50 years of hip hop and this dude is apologizing and the track isn’t even a week old.”

  • "Lame and sucka move"

@1GucciPuccii Tweeted “Cole that was a lame & a sucka move by , as a fan of hip hop this was embarrassing where’s your competitive spirit ? This is Hip Hop it’s rap your an MC !!” Does J. Cole’s apology mean he has no competitive spirit?
