Bill Belichick’s time in New England has come to an end. The Patriots are parting ways with the legendary head coach that has brought us 6 Super Bowl championships. Regardless of your feeling on this matter, you can NOT deny the importance that Bill has had on the Patriots organization in the 24 years he’s been the team’s head coach.

Let’s first take a look at Bill’s accomplishments. Bill has led the New England Patriots to six Super Bowl titles (2002, 2004, 2005, 2015, 2017, and 2019). This is the most of any NFL head coach. Under Belichick, the Patriots have a regular-season record of 262–108–0 over 23 seasons which makes him by far the most successful head coach in Patriots history. He has also led the Patriots to 17 divisional titles. As of today, Bill Belichick has 302 career wins which puts him third on the all time list behind George Halas and Don Shula. Where will Bill end up? That has yet to be known. And better yet, who will become the next head coach of the Patriots? That is also up in the air but the clear cut favorites include Jerod Mayo and now Mike Vrabel.

Bill has been solely responsible for the molding of so many athletes over the years. There have been countless numbers of players who’ve played under Bill that say he’s had a tremendous impact on their lives. Many of these players paid homage to Bill yesterday via social media. We’ve gathered a list of some of the more notable ones. We’ll start with Tom Brady.

  • Tom Brady - "I'm incredibly grateful to have played for the best coach in the history of the NFL"

In a move I think most people expected, Tom posted a very nice tribute to his former coach. Despite the divide the world seems to put between them, there will always be love and a mutual respect between them.

  • Malcolm Butler - "I probably wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for this man"

This one may have shocked a lot of people. Yes Bill benched Malcolm in Super Bowl LII so because of that, there’s been all kinds of rumors as to the nature of their relationship. This rumor was put to rest with Malcolm’s post yesterday.

  • Julian Edelman - "Wouldn't change a thing coach"

Oh Jules. What can we say about this man who showed us grit and balls every time he took the field. The bond between Jules and Bill was evident.

  • Rob Gronkowski - "You are the best to ever do it Coach!"

Gronk won 3 Super Bowls under Bill Belichick and the two always had what seemed to be a great relationship. His IG post was very heart felt as he thanked him for drafting him and called him the best to ever do it.

  • Devin McCourty - "Thanks for just being you"

Devin McCourty spent 13 years with the Patriots and Bill had nothing but praise for him upon his retirement announcement. Devin currently works as a commentator for NBC and had some amazing things to say about Bill on IG.

  • Matt Cassel - "Thanks for all you did for me"

Matt Cassel had a four year run with the Patriots under Belichick. He played back up QB under the greatest to ever play, Tom Brady.

  • Richard Seymour - "the greatest football mind to ever live"

Richard Seymour played for the Patriots from 2001-2008. He won 3 Super Bowls under Bill Belichick and has always had noting but respect for him. His post proves that.

  • Tedy Bruschi - "Well done Bill"

Tedy Bruschi played for the Patriots from 1996-2008 and won 3 Super Bowls with the team. He was clearly choking up after the news broke yesterday but his message to Bill was simple:
