Usher Has a Documentary Called My Way
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Usher’s hit album My Way, he is going to release a documentary. The documentary will be followed with a deluxe version of the album My Way which will come out September 16 on LaFace Records and Legacy Recordings. This deluxe album will feature remixes of You Make Me Wanna,” “Nice & Slow,” and “My Way;” all produced by Ryan James Carr. The album will be called Usher: 25 Years My Way.
The documentary will have interviews by Usher and Jermaine Dupri and have unreleased footage of the two artists recording the album. This was according to Essence Magazine. Usher stated that “It was the first time as an artist that I just felt confident enough to tell anybody: This is what I want to do. This is where I’m at. This is who I am,” the Grammy Award-winning artist said in the trailer for his upcoming documentary. “Whenever I choose to just lock in and do what I love, it manages to make people feel things because it’s authentic.”
The special edition of My Way will also be released on vinyl which will be available in early 2023. However, the mini documentary will be released today September 16th. Usher made a statement on his Instagram page stating. “I’m celebrating 25 years of ‘My Way’ with a very special release. You can pre-order the deluxe anniversary vinyl edition from @vinylmeplease pressed on 180g Silver Cloudy vinyl with all-new album art paying homage to the original cover from 1997 AND exclusive, reimagined tracks. This album will also be released digitally on September 16th.”
Usher has a Las Vegas residency which will continue until October. The residency will be at Dolby Park Live at MGM. Next year he will return for another residency between March and July. If your looking for tickets click here.
