Boston is the most popular city in Massachusetts and it’s also the fourth most expensive city to live in in the country. According to Zumper’s National Rent Report, the median cost of a one-bedroom apartment in Boston is $2,600 a month, while the median price of a two-bedroom apartment is $3,000. “The U.S. Consumer Price Index is at its highest since November 1981, while wages lag far behind. As CPG companies and property owners make clear their intention to continue raising prices, home-buying demand is decreasing, even as our country faces an ongoing housing shortage,” Zumper said. “Thanks to rapidly increasing interest rates (and more rate hikes predicted), many would-be buyers are opting out of the market, creating additional demand for rentals.” It’s not too hard to guess the country’s highest city to rent in: NYC with the cost of renting a one-bedroom apartment averaging at $3,780. Let’s take a look at the top 13 places to rent in the United States.
