Do you have Zappe Fever? You aren’t the only one. The New England Patriots played the Chicago Bears last night on Monday Night Football and the game ended in a way no Patriots fan expected. The Patriots ended up losing to the pathetic Bears 33-14.

The loss is a big one for Patriots fans to take. All week long, fans have been waiting to find out who’d get the nod at quarterback. Toward game time it was split right down the middle as to who fans wanted to start. We only found out right before the start of the game that Mac Jones would be the starting quarterback. A lot of fans weren’t happy with the decision and treated Mac pretty unfairly. They didn’t even give him an opportunity to get the rust off before booing him and getting the “ZAPPE” chant going. Where is the loyalty Patriots nation? Where is the respect for the man who has been busting his ass for this team since he got here? Regardless, Zappe fever is alive and well even though the second half of the game was lackluster to say the least.

Bailey Zappe did come in the game after Mac Jones threw an interception in the second quarter. Yes, Mac was benched and the crowd exploded. Zappe did have a decent quarter of play making some spectacular plays and bringing the Patriots to 14 points at the half. However, that’s where they’d stay. The Patriots didn’t score another single point in the second half while the Bears did. The final score was 33-14.

As far as Zappe fever, the internet and social media was all over it. There were some hilarious reactions to the switch and we picked some of our favorites for you. As for next week against the Jets? Who cares who gets the start. Let’s just hope the Patriots don’t embarrass themselves yet again.
