Are you a fan of the TV show Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives? In case you haven’t been keeping track, there are quite a few restaurants that were featured on the show right here in Massachusetts. Even more specifically, there are 25 of them right here in the Boston area. Before we run down each restaurant, let’s take a lot at the popular TV show that foodies know and love.
The show is a reality show that focuses on different restaurants across the country. It premiered on April 23, 2007, on the Food Network and it is hosted by Guy Fieri. The concept of the show is that Guy Fieri travels around the United States, Canada, and Mexico looking at various diners, drive-in restaurants, and dive bars. He has also featured restaurants in European cities, including London and Florence, as well as in Cuba. Typically, smaller diner type restaurants are featured and comfort foods including barbecue, pizza and breakfast spots are the most popular. There have been several guest appearances on the show as well. Some of the guests featured include: Matthew McConaughey, Gene Hackman, Rosie O’Donnell, Joe Theismann, Chris Rock, Kid Rock, Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Clint Bowyer, Martin Sheen, Gene Simmons, Steve Harwell, E-40 and Mick Fleetwood.
When looking at the 25 restaurants featured in and around the Boston area, we looked at Boston, East Boston, Cambridge, Somerville and other surrounding Boston area cities. Towns like Attleboro, Peabody, South Essex and Cape Cod all had restaurants featured. But for the sake of this article, we are looking at the Boston area restaurants only. We’ll let you know which restaurants are featured and their location. You can currently catch Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives on The Food Network at various days and times and many shows are rerun several times.
