The MTV VMAs aired live last night from the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. LL Cool J was technically the host but he had some help from Jack Harlow and Nicki Minaj. Eminem and Snoop had a metaverse performance where they were transformed into cartoon avatars of themselves smokin’ weed. Halfway through they came to life to finish their performance live on stage. Johnny Depp made an appearance as a moonman hovering over the crowd lookin for a job.

As for the big winners, Lil’ Nas X and Jack Harlow won for Best Collaboration for Industry Baby, Best Hip Hop video Nicki Minaj ft. Lil Baby: “Do We Have a Problem?” Best RnB video went to The Weeknd: “Out Of Time” Artist of the year Bad Bunny, Video of the Year Taylor Swift All Too Well.

There was a show stealing moment that had nothing to do with a celebrity. There was a giant twerking hologram that got everyone talking:

Taylor Swift, after accepting her award for Video of the Year, announced a new album and said she'd have more information after the show. Later on, she announced “Midnights,” which she describes as a “collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams.”

Bad Bunny performed live from Yankee Stadium and shocked the crowd by kissing one of his backup dancers on stage. Many say it was an ode to the Britney, Madonna, Christina kiss.

Jack Harlow brought out Fergie during his performance of "First Class." The song samples Fergie's 2006 song "Glamorous."
