Valentine’s Day

SAN FRANCISCO - AUGUST 21: A Burger King Whopper Jr. meal sits on a tray at a Burger King restaurant August 21, 2008 in San Francisco, California. Burger King, the second largest hamburger chain in the U.S., surprised Wall Street today with better than excected quarterly earnings. The company reported a surge in net income with earnings of $51 million, or 37 cents per share compared to $36 million, or 26 cents per share one year ago. (Photo by Justin Sullivan/Getty Images)

Uh, how many pics can we trade in?!  Burger King is teaming up with the new movie “Birds of Prey” for some Anti-Valentine’s Day fun!

According to Business Wire, “On February 14, scorned lovers in New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Boston can bring a printed photo of their ex to “Birds of Prey”-themed ‘breakup boxes’ at select Burger King restaurants, to be exchanged for a Whopper*. Guests in New York City can also bring in letters, stuffed animals or a specified piece of clothing to claim their reward.”

OK, so the * disclaimer has me dying laughing: “Available only at select BK® restaurants on Feb. 14, while supplies last. Limit one per guest. Must bring a printed photo of your ex-partner. Cannot be combined with other offers or promotions. Not valid on digital or delivery orders. NYC activation limited to 500 participants. Please note that by participating in this activation you agree that your printed photo or item, as applicable, will be destroyed upon completion of the activation.”

You’d better be SURE that you want the pic or item destroyed or else… no Whopper for you!

Click here for all the details, including what Boston-area Burger King is participating in this promotion (Chelsea’s KIND OF on my way home and I DO love Whoppers).

If you can’t get to the one location in the area participating, no worries, Burger King “is also launching an in-app quiz, giving participants a chance to get a $3 Whopper only via the BK® app. The quiz will feature five questions, and in order to be eligible for a Whopper guests must answer four out of five correctly.”
