Boston’s Chez-Vous Roller Rink Featured In This Roller Skating Popularity Story! (WATCH)
Outdoor roller skating videos have been going viral on social media during the pandemic, but for long-time skaters like those who frequent Dorchester’s Chez-Vous rink, roller skating isn’t a fad.
You know how much I love roller skating. Before the coronavirus pandemic, you could find me skating at Chez-Vous’ Sunday night Adult Night on occasion, especially when there was a Monday holiday so I could stay for the whole session! It’s a welcoming environment for all kinds of skaters. Sometimes I just sit and watch the talented skaters, which is just as enjoyable as being on the floor!

In this WGBH story, watch as Chez-Vous Manager Derick Foster-Toney talks about the roller skating culture at the rink and how the “trademark way” of people expressing themselves on skates at Chez-Vous came to be.
Chez-Vous is one of the many businesses that have had to shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic. They posted this pic on Instagram two weeks ago with the caption:
“Still empty. Still missing you all! No re open date at this time but please stay tuned! Thank you for the continued love and support. #chezvousboston.”
You can visit the Chez-Vous website for re-opening updates and check out all of the fun the rink has to offer for kids and adults here.
