VIDEO: Little Leaguer’s pitch to the head becomes viral moment in sportsmanship

Show this video to your kids the next time they need a lesson in sportsmanship. It happened yesterday during a qualifying game for the Little League World Series in Waco, TX. Texas East pitcher Kaiden Shelton threw a fastball that hit Oklahoma’s Isaiah Jarvis in the head. Jarvis was knocked to the ground and in more shock than anything. After some time, he did get up and run to first base. Shelton however was visibly shaken up and had his head down in tears. Jarvis saw that Shelton was upset and walked to the mound to console him and give him a hug. “Hey. You’re doing just great,” Jarvis told Shelton. “Let’s go.” It was such a beautiful moment. So beautiful that the entire crowd in Waco stood up to applaud the now viral moment. In the end, Texas East ended up winning the game 9-4 however I have a feeling it’s this moment of true sportsmanship that will be the highlight for these athletes moving forward.
