Chelmsford Closes Its Beaches Because People Weren’t Obeying The Rules!
This is unfortunate! The town of Chelmsford has closed the beaches at Heart Pond and Freeman Lake because people weren’t complying with Governor Baker’s beach guidelines.
According to the Town of Chelmsford, “Per the Chelmsford Board of Health, effective Friday May 29, 2020, the beaches at Heart Pond and Freeman Lake beaches will be closed due to the Board of Health receiving reports and witnessing non-compliance with Beach Guidelines set forth by Governor Baker and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health during the COVID-19 pandemic.”

I love visiting Heart Pond! That’s where I go to ride my bike on the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail to NARA Park in Acton (pre-coronavirus times). Hopefully, this will only be temporary and people will start complying with the rules so we can all enjoy the outdoors safely!
