MA Restaurants Allow Bar Seating and More People at Tables
Governor Charlie Baker has announced new dining rule changes that will allow restaurants to use bar seating and seat more people at tables.
Beginning Monday, Sept 28, bar seating can be opened and the limit on diners at tables will be raised from 6 to 10 people.
Bars will remain closed, but restaurants can utilize bar space as long as customers are ordering food and following distancing protocols. Baker announced the new rule changes in Lowell today.
“Bars are closed, nightclubs are closed but the evidence from other states with respect to this issue are clear. Restaurants can use bar seating for regular food service with appropriate distance in place,” Baker said.
