Today is August 8, 2022 which means it’s International Cat Day! Cats are one of the most popular pets in the world and on this day we are reminded how they enrich our lives for the better. Owning a cat reminds us of how amazing companionship can be. They are some of the more unpredictable creatures where one moment they’re purring and wanting you to rub their bellies and the next minute they’re swiping your face. The International Cat Day was started by International Fund for Animal Welfare to honor cats and protect them from abuse. The average weight of a cat is 6 to 10 pounds and as we know, they are generally nocturnal in habit. Yes, we know this from the constant running around the house in the middle of the night while we’re trying to sleep. But we love them nontheless. For the past week, we’ve been asking the Hot 96.9 listeners to submit pictures of their feline family members so we can compile this list of amazing cats to honor on this International Cat Day.
