USA Today Names 10 Best Cideries In The Country And 1 Is In Massachusetts

If you’re a fan of hard cider, there are many outstanding places to experience the best of the best, all over the country. But, you only have to travel a few miles north of Boston. USA Today named the 10 best cideries in the country, and 1 is in Massachusetts!

These are cideries that take great pride in using local apples, According to the article in USA Today, the top 10 cideries use “the freshest apples to produce innovative, unique and delicious cider.” As you may have guessed, the cideries are chosen by readers of the publication. But to start, the cideries are nominated by a panel of experts. The top contenders are then voted on by readers and narrowed down to 10.
So, what exactly is hard cider? As explained by Culinary Depot, hard cider is fermented apple juice. The difference between apple cider and hard cider is simply, the alcohol, or the fermentation process. Did you know that until the 20th century, the word “cider” was used to refer to any alcoholic beverage? To refer to the non-alcoholic version we now say “apple cider.”
