This New England State is The Second Least Sinful in America
When it comes to sinful states, this New England state is the second least sinful in America. Do a bunch of angels live here, or what?
We usually think of this state as the land of picturesque landscapes, maple syrup, and motor speedways.
But second least sinful state?
Not really.
Still, according to WalletHub.com, New Hampshire comes in at #49 of the Most Sinful States in the Nation survey.
New Mexico has theĀ worst drug problem, and it certainly comes as no surprise that Nevada is theĀ most gambling-addicted.
Some states are more well-behaved than others, though. In order to determine the states that most give in to their desires, WalletHub compared the 50 states across 55 key indicators of immoral or illicit behavior. The data set ranges from violent crimes per capita to excessive drinking to the share of the population with gambling disorders.
Then they broke it down into five vices: jealousy, anger and hatred, vices, greed and lust.
New Hampshire is downright angelic at #49. (Wyoming is the least sinful state.) Three other New England states cracked the sinless top 10. Maine is #47, Vermont #46, Connecticut #41. (Massachusetts is at #38). Rhode Island is fairly naughty at #34.
So why would the Granite State be theĀ VIP section of the “Least Sinful States” club?
First off, we’re talking nature’s playground here. Who’s got time for sin when you’re too busy hiking, skiing, or just soaking in the scenic beauty? Nope.
Also, did you know there are only TWO strip clubs in New Hampshire? I didn’t either. That’s according to stripclublist.com The restraint is IMPRESSIVE.
Then there’s the small-town vibe. Everybody knows everybody, so it’s kinda hard to hide your shenanigans. Better behave or the neighbors will know about it before you do.
Let’s not forget the motto: “Live Free or Die.” It’s like a constant reminder to keep it clean and stay on the straight and narrow.
Oh, and politics? Yeah, they’re too busy debating the best maple syrup recipe to get caught up in any scandalous behavior.
