Who are the most listened to artists in each state? Sirius satellite released a graphic that was retweeted by Barstool Sports over the weekend and many of these answers are very surprising. Now, they didn’t explain how they came to these conclusions. One can only assume it has to do with the artist’s popularity on their platform. Not to mention, we’ve tried combing through the Sirius twitter account and can’t find any explanation as to how they came up with this list. Many of these choices will surprise you. Even if it’s simply a list to create discussion, or a list of satire, it’s still interesting to see who each state allegedly chooses as their artist or band of choice. By the way, we single handedly think Melissa from The Getup Crew was the reason for The Weeknd winning Massachusetts.
Some of the more questionable choices include Ryan Cabrera for California. It’s even more strange that he hasn’t released anything new in years. This is one of the reasons we think this list may be loaded with satire. Although who knows really? Another somewhat questionable choice: Ashlee Simpson for Florida. She hasn’t actually released an album since 2008 but she has made several TV and film appearances. A girl with Massachusetts roots made the most listened to artist for Texas: Jojo. Jojo is one of the most underrated artists out there, however, she hasn’t been releasing a ton of music lately but has made several notable TV appearances including The Masked Singer and X Factor Celebrity. One more that was a tad surprising was Alaska whose most listened to artist is Asher Roth. His last album release was in 2020 and hasn’t been doing much since.
