Jay-Z Says He Wasn’t Silently Protesting By Sitting During The National Anthem At The Super Bowl (VIDEO)
Jay-Z cleared up accusations that he and Beyonce stayed seated during the National Anthem at the Super Bowl as a silent protest.
According to TMZ, Jay-Z claims that he and Beyonce did not plan to stay seated during the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. In this video that was filmed at Columbia University, Jay-Z goes into detail about how he and Beyonce were watching Demi Lovato’s performance from an artist’s perspective and didn’t deliberately sit in protest. He also shares a funny story about how if it had been intentional, how Blue Ivy would have reacted.
Jay-Z said, “We were making the loudest stand. I didn’t have to make a silent protest.” and gave examples of the diversity of the artists that were chosen to perform as well as the social injustice commercial that ran during the Super Bowl. You can here him elaborate on this in the video below.
