MBTA To Tackle Their Urine Problem
If you’ve ever been on one of the MBTA elevators, you know that there’s a serious urine problem. As Leroy on The GetUp Crew says, “It’s very much needed because sometimes you get on and the smell will knock out.” Well they’re about to figure out how to fix the urine problem.
The MBTA is launching a pilot program where urine detection sensors will be placed in four downtown elevators to address. The sensors will alert transit ambassadors, who will send a cleaning crew. The program will start in August and by the end of the year a decision will be made about the future of the program.
