The Massachusetts Theaters Celebrating National Cinema Day With $4 Movies on Sunday
We all love movies! What do we love even more? Inexpensive movie tickets. It’s almost here. National Cinema Day is on Sunday and that means you can go to the movies for only $4 dollars. What a deal.
What is National Cinema Day?
This year is the second year of National Cinema Day, a day where The Cinema Foundation works to get more people to get back into the theater. To do that, on Sunday, August 27th, 3,000 movie theaters across the country are offering tickets for just $4 dollars. The Cinema Foundation is a nonprofit affiliate of the National Association of Theater Owners, whose mission is to, “advance the moviegoing experience, by developing future diverse workforces and moviegoing communities through research, education, and philanthropy.”
What movies can I see?
The new Barbie movie? Yes! Oppenheimer? Yup! What about The Little Mermaid? You got it! Anything that’s playing in theaters is fair game.
Any extras?
Some theaters are actually having some specials with their concessions. We all know that a $4 ticket is great, but if you are getting any snacks, you might as well have stayed home. AMC Theaters is offering a $5 dollar small popcorn and drink combo. It doesn’t include tax, and it’s for all day, all shows. Regal Cinemas will match that $4 ticket with a $4 dollar small popcorn and drink combo.
Plus, some theaters are even throwing in special promos on their concessions. AMC Theaters, for instance, Don't miss #NationalCinemaDay at #AMCTheatres on Sunday, August 27!
