Massachusetts Beer Week: Here’s What You Need To Know
It’s the start of a new month, and what better way to kick it off than celebrating local beer? In Massachusetts, from March 2 to March 9, it is officially Mass Beer Week. Specifically, this celebrates locally crafted beer and breweries.
“The goal of the weeklong series of events is to shine a bright spotlight on the amazing craft beer made in our state and to draw traffic and tourism to your establishments to drink it all in,” Mass Brewers Guild states.
Here Is What Else You Need To Know About Mass Beer Week
So far, 52 local breweries are on tap to participate. You can see the full list here, as it includes everything from Abandoned Building Brewery in Easthampton to Wormtown Brewery in Worcester. Many of the local breweries involved will also have custom-branded Beer Week glassware available to commemorate the fun.
The events during this week vary depending on which brewery you visit. Everything from tastings, pairings, and panel discussions are on the table. In fact, some places are getting the party started early. On March 1, The Underground Bakery at Cape Cod Beer will hold a pop-up shop today from 3-8 pm. Local musicians will be performing all weekend live onsite at Cape Cod Beer.
What Else?
Though this is not part of Beer Week, there is some other local brew news to be aware of. According to Boston 25 News, The Great American Beer Hall in Medford is slated to open later this year. What’s unique here is that this space will include a 17,000 square-foot tap room and an outdoor beer garden space.
“Medford Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn said the beer hall will offer 90 different tap beers, burger and pizza vendors, as well as communal spaces to enjoy sports and entertainment on the big screen,” Boston 25 News explained.
So, with spring in site, we can start March off with a cheers given Massachusetts Beer Week is underway.
Here Are The Notable Titles Coming To Streaming In March
Spring is (thankfully) soon approaching, and so are the streamers with new content to add to their platforms. From star-studded films to exciting new television series, the month of March offers a lot of promising entertainment for fans of all genres. As we saw in February, new television series like Griselda and True Detective were highly anticipated, though both shows were met with mixed reviews. The latest and final season of Curb Your Enthusiasm is ongoing on Max (formerly HBO) after debuting its first episode on February 4. Another successful comedy show that re-emerged for a new season and is still releasing new episodes in March is Abbott Elementary.
Marching Onto Your TVs
Also notable: movies that were in theaters recently are trickling their way onto streaming platforms. 2023’s Wonka, starring Timothee Chalamet, is making its way into your living rooms. Chalamet has had a knockout year, starring in back-to-back films that are mighty successful. He will next be seen in the second installment of the Dune film franchise, which is set to release in theaters on March 1st. Besides the film’s cursed popcorn buckets, there has been nothing but high ratings and rave reviews for the sci-fi flick, also starring Zendaya, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, Anya Taylor-Joy, Dave Bautista, Josh Brolin, and Javier Bardem.
New series and films that fans are looking forward to include the newest and first series by the Game of Thrones creators called 3 Body Problem. Another highly-anticipated film is one that takes in space (yes, that is a very overly done theme), but it’s got an eerie twist. Spaceman, starring Adam Sandler starts off pretty generic in the beginning of the trailer but quickly gets dark and very Black Mirror-esque as you watch more of it.
