Florida Named One Of The Most Fun States In America
WalletHub recently made a good time the center of attention. In their recent report, they ranked all 50 states according to how fun they are, and Florida was towards the top of the list.
“Fun” is a very broad and general term. A simple question of, “What is your definition of fun?” would result in a thousand different answers. In order to compile this list, WalletHub specifically looked at nightlife, entertainment, and recreation in all 50 states. Twenty-six different metrics were then evaluated within those categories. Each metric was given a grade. Totaling the points, then constructed the list of the most fun states in America by top scores.
“There are certain states where fun is not just an option but also a way of life,” WalletHub explained. That appears to be the case in the Sunshine State.
Florida Ranked As The Second Most Fun State To Visit In America
Finishing with a score of 61.72, Florida finished behind only California. Entertainment and recreation were a driving force behind the great results, with Florida being the second best in this category. Other areas where Florida shined brightly include the number of restaurants, golf courses and country clubs per capita, and fitness centers per capita. In addition, Florida ranked as the best state (#1) for marinas per capita. The 825 miles of “sandy coastline” along the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico surely played to Florida’s advantage regarding the shoreline mileage and beach quality metrics.
The only other state to make the top ten here was Louisiana. If you are wondering which state finished last it was Mississippi, totaling a score of only 19.18.
4 Of The Most Fun Cities
In late 2022, WalletHub also ranked the most fun cities in America. Orlando, Miami, Tampa, and Fort Lauderdale all finished in the top 20 (out of 182 cities). In fact, 11 different cities throughout Florida were named here. That is roughly 11% of the entire list.
