Judge me all you want, I WILL be reading the new Twilight book! ~Pebbles
Listen, I’m a Twihard and will be until the day I die. I know the books don’t hold up well in 2020. I know they’re ridiculous and whatever else you want to call them. But I don’t care. I WILL be reading the new Twilight book, Midnight Sun, when it comes out on August 4th.
We are living during troubling, difficult times, and we’re doing whatever we can to keep ourselves sane and comforted. Twilight, the books and the movies, are just the distraction I need. And this isn’t the first time Twilight saved me.
Back in 2008, my sister was in a nursing home under hospice care because of a brain tumor. Every day, I would get off the air and drive an hour away to go see her. It was one of the most difficult periods of my entire life. At that time, I had never read the Twilight books, but the movie was about to come out. I have this thing about reading the books before I watch the movies, so I picked up the first Twilight book and read it. I was hooked. I know, it’s not the greatest writing in the world, but it was just what I needed at the time.
After that, I went to see the movie and I was hooked! Lucky for me, the final book in the series had just been released, so I got to read Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, AND Breaking Dawn right in a row. It was probably the most comforting thing I did for myself that time. It helped me to escape an incredibly difficult time.
It’s been 15 years since Twilight was first released, and Stephenie Meyer just announced this morning that she’s coming out with a new book called Midnight Sun. For true Twihards, we know that Midnight Sun is Twilight written from Edward Cullen’s perspective. There was a huge scandal because it got leaked and Meyer decided at the time she wasn’t going to release it.
Well, my coronavirus prayers have been answered and come August 4th, Midnight Sun is going to be in my hands. So judge away people! I need this. If you all can drive me nuts with all your Tiger King crap, get ready, I’m about to annoy the hell out of you about Twilight!
