Mary Menna/Beasley BostonPicture this: You're on a flight getting ready to go to the Super Bowl. Your plane is on the runway ready to take off. As you're waiting, another plane clips your plane's wing, leaving you grounded. That's what happened to a full plane of passengers this morning. The passenger list included two Beasley Boston executives this morning who were on their way to the Super Bowl.
When JetBlue planes collide
Director of Sales for Beasley Boston Brian Schneekloth, and Vice President Market Manager of Beasley Boston, Mary Menna, were both booked on JetBlue flight 777. The flight was headed to Las Vegas early Thursday morning when two JetBlue planes collide.
According to Brian, "We hit them, it was like a crash. You heard a jarring crash. I thought it was a de-icer."
Following the crash, Brian and Mary said they were left on the runway for an hour before being brought back to the gate. The second plane was flight 551 and was headed to Orlando.
What's next?
As of 8am Thursday morning, they were told JetBlue was getting another plane to take them and the rest of the passengers to Las Vegas.

About the incident, Mary continued "Flight 777, our plane clipped another JetBlue flight that was de-icing. It tore off their back wing and broke a piece of our wing."
Officially, the FAA said in a statement that “JetBlue Flight 777, an Airbus A321neo’s left winglet struck the right horizontal stabilizer of JetBlue Flight 551, an Airbus A321, around 6:40 a.m., local time on Thursday, February 8, while on the deicing pad at Boston Logan International Airport."
The second plane, Flight 551 was bound for Orlando. The FAA has said they will be investigating the incident. Meanwhile, the airline is looking into the matter as well.
"Safety is JetBlue’s priority, and we will work to determine how and why this incident occurred," JetBlue said in a statement.

This incident is actually the second one at Logan Airport involving a JetBlue flight in the past year. Back in February 2023, a JetBlue plane that was preparing to land almost collided with a private jet. Investigators later confirmed that the private jet started taking off without permission.
Angriest airports Boston Logan: Traveling can be one of the most frustrating experiences. Getting on a plane could also be particularly frustrating. Many of us fly because it's more convenient and faster for us to get where we're going. Many times, we are flying to get to an event like a wedding or a cruise. This would make any sort of flight delay a little inconvenient for us, thus causing us to get ANGRY. What do we do in 2023 when we get angry? We go on Twitter to complain, many times tagging the airport and/or airline to get their attention so we can get some sort of compensation. It is with this information, that the survey of the angriest airports in America was taken.
Forbes came out with the list earlier this month and are using strictly Twitter analysis to determine its findings. A few things they discovered: More than half of people who tag an airport in a tweet are angry. The three most used words in those tweets are delay, security and hours. The least angry passengers come from Indianapolis, Seattle-Tacoma and Kansas City airports.
Over 37,000 tweets were analyzed in the month of March to determine the findings of this survey and the 60 busiest airports were determined based on the number of passenger boardings. So where does Boston Logan airport come in on this list of 60 airports? You'll have to keep scrolling to find out. Either way, there was only one other airport in New England that actually appeared on the list and that was Bradley International Airport in Hartford. Bradley landed at #30 so right in the middle of angriest airports. 52% of the tweets coming in from Bradley were angry with the most common used words being: Travelers, Security, Bag, Expanding, Canceled.
