$1 Million Mega Millions Winner Here in Massachusetts, Was It You?
Once again there was no grand prize Mega Millions winner in last night’s drawing. The $1.1 billion drawing was a historic one being over one billion dollars but unfortunately (or fortunately for all of us) there was no winner. The numbers drawn last night were: 8, 24, 30, 45, 61 and gold Mega Ball 12. The next Mega Millions jackpot will be drawn on Friday night and will have an estimated jackpot of $1.25 billion. The next drawing will be fourth-largest prize in Mega Millions’ history.
Just because there was no jackpot winner in last night’s Mega Millions drawing, doesn’t mean there were no winners. One ticket sold in Pennsylvania won $5 million by matching the first five numbers and activating the optional Megaplier, which is available in most states with an extra $1 purchase. Another four tickets sold in Arizona, California, New York and Pennsylvania won $1 million by matching the first five numbers. There was also a $1 million winner in Massachusetts so make sure you check your ticket because that winner most definitely could be you. 135 tickets matched four white balls plus the Mega Ball to win the third-tier prize. Twenty-eight of those tickets are worth $40,000 each, because they also included the optional Megaplier.
So this means Friday night’s drawing will be worth an estimated $1.25 million. Before buying your ticket, it might be fun to dream about what you’d do with a major prize like that. Would you take the lump sum? Would you take it over time? Which family members would you help out first? Would you tell people? Would you move FAR away? Would you quit your job? These are all questions we think about when pondering over gigantic jackpots like Friday night’s Mega Millions drawing. Either way, just remember this, you can’t win if you don’t play. So best of luck to you with Friday’s drawing.
