Ice Sculptures And New Year’s Eve On Boston’s Waterfront
for you to New Year’s Eve is almost here! Most of us already have plans in place. But some last-minute people are just waiting for the right thing to come along. Well this might be it. How about ice sculptures and New Year’s Eve on Boston’s Waterfront? If this sounds good to you, read on!
Tell me about the ice sculptures
Put on your warmest gear, comfy winter boots, and get strolling. The Boston Waterfront Ice Sculpture Stroll is happening at 32 different sites on December 31st from 1pm to 5pm. It’s a FREE event full of fun and creativity. The event is put on by Boston Harbor Now, “working to reestablish Boston as one of the world’s truly great coastal cities.”
This year promises to be the biggest ice sculpture stroll ever. It will stretch from Revere Beach to the Seaport, the waterfront and Harborwalk. You can visit the lighthouse ice sculpture at the Boston Harbor Islands Welcome Center.
Here’s an interactive site for you to find all the sculptures you want to check out.
Other activities for New Year’s Even on Boston’s Waterfront
Besides the ice sculpture stroll, there are lots of other activities going on for you to try. What would ringing in the New Year be without midnight fireworks? This will take place over Boston Harbor at 11:59pm between East Boston and Boston’s North End. Looking for the best viewing locations? Try: Harborwalk and Fan Pier Park, Christopher Columbus Park, and East Boston’s waterfront.
Win a Staycation! While you’re out strolling, you can enter the Waterfront Ice Sculpture Stroll Selfie Contest. Up for grabs, a staycation for two that includes restaurant gift cards, an overnight hotel stay, tickets to the Greenway Carousel, family four-pack of tickets to Boston Harbor Islands, and a #BundleupBoston swag kit.
