Local Doctor Talks Latest 2024 Skin Care Trends
There’s nothing like starting the new year with a little self care.
So when Neem Medical Spas director Dr. Rosy Sandhu invited me to her Winchester location for a Hydrafacial MD with a Pelleve radio frequency – The Mona Lisa Treatment – my response was a RESOUNDING “Sign me up!”
Dr. Sandhu is a board-certified internist focusing on health optimization. She specializes in the intrinsic link between overall health and outward appearance, with a particular interest in weight management, menopause care and advanced non-invasive skincare treatments – the mind/body/skin connection.
Neem Medical Spas
Neem Medical Spas are located in Boston, Winchester, Lynnfield and a soon-to-open 4th location. Working from the inside out, Dr. Sandhu addresses the underlying causes of a patient’s health concerns with customized plans combining medical and aesthetic treatments, along with lifestyle modifications like diet, exercise and stress reduction.
“Beauty is not about changing or adding more, but about creating balance and harmony in the body and mind,” Dr. Sandhu’s said.
She was named one of Boston’s 100 Most Influential Women of Color in 2018 and was awarded Editor’s Choice Award in Northshore magazine’s 2021 and 2023 Best of Awards.
And thanks to her Eastern roots and interest in Ayurveda, an ancient Eastern holistic science, Dr. Sandhu brings Neem-based natural wellness treatments to her practice.
So, what are the latest 2024 Skin Care Trends?
Trash the TikTok Trends
Instead, listen to “informed skincare choices by professional experts beyond social media influencers,” Dr. Sandhu said.

Here’s to “the death of over-exfoliation and the rise of nourishing Ingredients like ceramides, growth factors and humectants such as glycerin,” she said.
No More Needles?
There will be “less reliance on fillers and Botox and more focus On All-over Skin Health, such as collagen building with effective skincare ingredients.” Dr. Sandhu said.
Keep It Simple, Sis
2024 will see a “fading out of complicated many-step routines towards the greater inclusion of simple routines with targeted ingredients focused on individual skincare needs,” according to Dr. Sandhu
Meanwhile, my Mona Lisa Treatment left me feeling refreshed and hydrated.
The Hydrafacial MD is like a spa day for your face! It combines cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, hydration, and antioxidant protection all in one. It’s like a superhero squad for your skin, tackling everything from pesky blackheads to dry patches. The process involves a gentle vortex suction that sucks away impurities while infusing your skin with hydrating serums – leaving you with a radiant, baby-soft glow. It’s basically the VIP treatment for your face, saying goodbye to dullness and hello to a refreshed, revitalized complexion.
The Pelleve radio frequency treatment is a skin tightening wizardry that’s like a time-traveling spa day for your face. Imagine a gentle wand that works its magic, stimulating collagen production and tightening those saggy spots. Pelleve targets fine lines and wrinkles, leaving them running scared. The best part? Zero downtime! You can literally zap away the years during lunch and strut out looking fabulous.
