Dorchester Woman is First $1 Million Winner in Massachusetts’ Jaws Scratch Ticket

A Dorchester woman is the first $1 million winner of the Massachusetts' Jaws scratch ticket. The ticket just became available on March 26 and already one of the grand prizes is now gone. The winner: Solange Villard who purchased her $1 million winning ticket at Millennium Store Inc., 496A Blue Hill Ave. in Dorchester. Because the store sold the winning ticket, they will receive a $10,000 bonus.

Solange said she plans to use her winnings to buy a house and to take care of her children and grandchildren. And get this, she says she has purchased 3 Jaws tickets and all three have been winners. She chose to receive her prize in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes).

Okay so one of the grand prizes of $1 million is now gone. However, 4 more $1 million prizes remain. There are also five Second Chance Drawings in which a total of 30 winners will be awarded a JAWS-inspired trip for two to Martha’s Vineyard in the summer of 2025.  And check this out, one of those 30 will win $1 million on a game show during that Vineyard trip. The others will receive prizes ranging from $500 - $10,000.
