First Snowstorm of 2024 to Hit Massachusetts, Who Will Get Hit The Hardest and When?
Here we go! The first significant snowstorm is on its way for Massachusetts this weekend. Now while all of the local meteorologists are calling for a good several inches of snow for most of the state, it may not be the smartest idea to run out and raid your area grocery stores. Yes, it looks like we will get plowable snow BUT if you live closer to Boston, it may be mostly rain. Let’s look at the latest information.
According to WCVB, the storm will actually start late Saturday night (between 7pm and midnight). It will depend on the track of the storm as far as how much snow the state will get. It is looking like anywhere in and around Boston will get much less seeing as how it will mix with rain. However, if you live west of Boston, you will get more plowable snow and the prediction is up to 10 inches of snow in most of the metro west to western part of the state. Keep in mind, it is still only Thursday so these predictions will change.
With this storm on its way, it doesn’t hurt to take a look at your area laws as far as space savers go. First, you can only use a space saver when Boston declares a snow emergency. From then, you have only 48 hours to use it after the emergency is lifted. After that, you must remove it from the street. Now just because space savers aren’t technically allowed, doesn’t mean we’d suggest parking in a spot that has one. If you don’t want any angry neighbors or potential damage to your car, we’d suggest you park in a garage or find alternate parking. In the meantime, check out these hilarious space savers in Boston over the years.
