Ime Udoka’s Fiancee Nia Long Not Leaving – “We’re sticking by him”
Ime Udoka and his fiancee Nia Long seem to be working it out. This comes after news of Ime Udoka’s suspension as head coach of the Boston Celtics for having what’s being described as a “consensual” relationship with a female staff member. Neither Nia nor Ime have spoken publicly since the scandal broke, however one person who is talking is Nia’s ex and father of her other child. His name is Massai Z. Dorsey and he spoke exclusively to the Daily Mail. ‘We talk as a family, and it’s all about unconditional love, and that’s what she’s giving him,’ Massai Z. Dorsey told DailyMail.com, sharing his thoughts on the scandal in an exclusive interview. ‘We’re sticking by him 100%.’ Massai and Nia both have a 21 year old son, Massai Dorsey II, who they coparent. He goes on to say ‘All I could say is good things about Ime. He’s a good man. All these years. I’m happy he’s in my son’s life. Ime made a mistake. Every man needs another chance. Like the Bible says, the flesh is weak. He’s not a bad guy. Hopefully, he’s learned from this.’
Dorsey also alluded to the “Me Too” movement being a reason things are tough for men right now. He told The Daily Mail ‘It’s easy to get to the top, but to stay at the top it takes a different type of person. Right now in this season, you have to be very sensitive with women, unfortunately, because they hold the cards right now,’
Ime Udoka and Nia Long have been together since 2010 when coincidentally, they met in Boston. They had a son together the following year. Long and Udoka became engaged in June 2015. The pair later returned to Boston once again in June 2021 — but this time, with Udoka as head coach of the Boston Celtics.
Twitter Reacts to Nia Long's Fiancé Ime Udoka Having An Affair
Nia Long‘s fiancé, Boston Celtics coach Ime Udoka, is reportedly facing a year-long suspension from the NBA for “improper” conduct with a member of the Boston Celtics team staff.
Udoka allegedly had an “intimate and consensual” relationship with a female staffer according to a report by The Athletic’s Shams Charania. The relationship is reportedly a violation of the franchise’s code of conduct, which is why the head coach is facing suspension.
“Celtics coach Ime Udoka had an improper intimate and consensual relationship with a female member of the team staff, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. It’s been deemed a violation of the franchise’s code of conduct,” Charania wrote Thursday (Sept. 22).
ESPN reports that Udoka is “likely facing a suspension for the entire 2022-23 season.” Assistant coach Joe Mazzulla is likely to become Boston’s interim coach for the season, sources told the outlet.
Udoka joined the Celtics last summer after spending time with the San Antonio Spurs, Philadelphia 76ersand Brooklyn Nets as an assistant coach following his NBA playing career. In his first season as coach, Udoka led the Celtics to the 2022 NBA Finals for the first time in 12 years. The Celtics lost to the Golden State Warriors in Game 6 of the 2022 NBA Finals.
Udoka and Long have been together since 2010 and were engaged in 2015 according to US Weekly. Long and Udoka share their 10-year-old son Kez. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air alum also shares son Massai, 21, with ex Massai Z. Dorsey.
The female staffer’s name has not been made public. A formal announcement from the NBA on Udoka’s length of suspension is expected as soon as Thursday.
